Answers. In the story Jo is a four year curious child. Now she thinks about the things. Now she doesn't accept easily whatever she is said. Now she has many questions. She wants to clear the things. She is logical. Her father tells her story of Roger Skunk who smelt very bad therefore no other animal played with him. Roger skunk went to the Wizard to get rid of his problem. Wizard chanted a magic spell and Skunk started smelling like a rose. But his mother became upset with his rose smell. She went to wizard home and hit him over the head with her umbrella. Once again the wizard turned Roger Skunk's smell bad.
Jo did not like the ending of the story. Jo was shocked with Mother Skunk's behavior. She was happy with Roger's rose smell because he was able to was able to make new friends and society accepted him. She wanted the story to end happily, and therefore disapproved of Jack's ending of the story. According to her the Wizard should hit her back.She called her stupid mommy. That night she neither laughed nor slept.

In the evening Roger reached at home but his mother became upset with his rose smell. Now she wanted his original smell back. Roger tried to make his mother understand that nobody liked his smell and did not play with him. His mother did not give her consent to keep rose smell. She did not listen any excuse of Roger, took umbrella and went to Wizard house. After reaching there she hit the wizard over his head with her umbrella. Once again the wizard turned Roger Skunk's smell bad. Both came back their home. She hugged Roger Skunk as he smelled as usual.
