India is one of the socially & economically progressing countries in the world. Many major steps have been taken and are being taken to enhance education standards across the country. In the era of technology and advancement somewhere we have lost our traditional values. The newspapers are full of the news like robberies, murder and violence. Earlier, our schools were free of violence. At present the incident of violence in our schools are increasing at alarming rate.

In this worst situation "value based education may prove a remedy. Value based education Imparte social and moral interc integrity and character in students. It builds the qualities of self-confidence, strength and honesty in a person. It develops students social and relationship skills that end throughout their lives. They become better citizens of the country who are able to co- operate with each other. They make their life happier and more meaningful.

We know that school atmosphere and behavior of teachers play a major role in developing a sense of values. School is the place where students can be shaped properly. It is the only place where values can be inculccted in the students. It is the time that there is an urgent need to introduce value education in the school at all level.
