Dr. Sadao - A well known doctor and scientist. Hana - is the wife of Dr. Sadoo, She is very loyal and obedient wife. Tom (Escaped Prisoner) found wounded, saved by Dr. Sadao.
The General - A selfish person.
Servants - They were very loyal but later left the house.
Dr. Dadoo and his traditional Father/Marry to Hana: Dr. Sadao Hoki was a famous surgeon and scientist. He lived happily nearby the beach with his wife and two children. He was very loyal & patriot towards his country. His wife Hana was also a sympathetic, Kind, obedient and faithful wife. He loved his wife Hana very much. He met her accidently in America while his higher education. After Sodoo and Hano had finished their studies, they came bat to Japan. His father allowed them to marry, when he came to know that Hona belongs to a upper cast. His father was very strict and passionate about the nation. He never behaved friendly with his son. Sadao's education was his chief concern. Sadeo's father inculcated in him values of patriotism and national loyalty. He wanted his son to be a famous doctor, so he sent Sodoo to the America. There, he became a successful doctor and famous scientist. He got specialty in healing wounds. The second World War started , but The general did not send him with the troops because he knew that Sadao has ability to cure his diseases.
The U.S. Prisoner: One night Dr. Sadao and Hana were, standing out facing the sea. y saw someone is crawling on th They went there and shocked to find an epled prisoner of war who was bunded. The wound was of a gun. They read the print on the cap "U.S. Navy", First they thought to through him back in the sea or inform the police because they hated him as they were Japanese. Sadoo knew that giving shelter to the enemy would get them in trouble. They were in dilemma because in both case he would die, Dr. Sadao knew as a doctor his first duty to save life if he could. Finally they decided to treat and took him to his on the beach home although they had no sympathy for him.
The Servants Reaction Sadao Saves the Enemy's Life: They were ed about their position in society so they decided concerto after treating his wounds that they would hand him over to the law. Hona's did denied washing the enemy because he was an American so Hana washed him herself. Dr. Sadao observed that the bullet was still in wound. He decided to perform the operation and his wife assist him during the operation. Hara probably had never seen an operation and started vomiting. As all the servants denied serving the American enemy, Hana had to serve him herself She had to feed him because he was very weak to eat. Slowly he started recovering. In the beginning the enemy couldn't stand for long time but after some days he regained his lost strength He was very grateful towards Dr. Sodoo but had fear also being an American. The man was surprise to see Hana talked in English Hana told him that she had lived in America for a long time. The enemy revealed his name 'Tom'.
Other side their servants were very upset. They did not want their masters to give shelter to their enemy. They denied to serve him. They were worried for their masters' reputation because they might be blamed as fraitor if things come out. They requested Dr. Sadoo and his wife many time to oust the enemy. After not getting any result they left their house.
The General Message: One day the General called Dr. Sadao at his palace because he had pain. Hana was so scared, she thought that the messenger was there to arrest Sadao. Sadoo decided to tell everything to the General and get rid of this problem. Sadec went to the General, gave him the treatment and told everything about the American in his house. He told the General that he had no feeling for the American but he performed his moral duty. The General appreciated his skills and assured him not to be any action against him. He was selfish one. The General only had faith in Sadoo as a doctor. He assured Dr. Sadco that his persona assassins would kill the American.
Sadao get rid of the Enemy: Hana did not have any information about the plan. Nothing happened next some days. Sadao realized that the General has forgotten his promise. Now the American was quite well. He took a decision to send the American back. He sent American by his own boat and advised him to stay on a small island, which was not far from the there. He mentioned nobody comes there and that is the right place to wait for a Korean boat. He gave him a lot of food, water and a flash light. Held him to give him two flashes if he runs out of food and one flash if he was still on the island. He warned not to flash at night because he could be noticed. The American paid thanks to Dr. Sadao because he knew that Sodao has given him rebirth. Sadoa gave him Japanese clothes and a black clothe to cover himself. Once again the General became so ill. This time it was not easy to save him but Dr. Sadao saved his life with his skills. The Genera asked to doctor about the escaped piřsoner. He told doctor es he was in great pain. Dr. Sadao told to doctor that the American hod fled. General did not get angry even promised to reward him. One night he did not get any flash from island. It means the American had gone away. As a doctor he saved a life, though he hated the white man.
